About HUBZone-Certified Businesses
HUBZone-certified businesses are small businesses principally located in historically underutilized business zones (HUBZones), with at least 35% of employees also living in a HUBZone.
These businesses are majority-owned and controlled by citizens, a community development corporation, an agricultural cooperative, an Alaska Native corporation, a Native Hawaiian organization, or a Native American tribe. They are also considered small by the Small Business Association (SBA).
Current Goals
The HUBZone program has an annual goal of awarding at least 3% of federal contract dollars to HUBZone-certified businesses.
Every five years, the HUBZone program reviews HUBZone designations to ensure the program continues to aid communities most in need.
